Once you have Huddle Desktop you can make use of the extra functionality it gives you. To install Huddle desktop click here. If you need help from IT to install software on your PC, send this information to your IT administrators and they'll be able to set it up for you.
Once this is installed you'll benefit from quicker and easier editing, fast access to Recent Files and Bookmarks, and the ability to upload to Huddle directly from your desktop.

I) Setting Up
a) Once you have Huddle for Desktop installed you will see a huddle symbol appear in your task bar that looks like this.
Click the icon to bring up the Huddle window on your screen.
b) To have the window automatically appear on your screen when you boot up your PC, click on the arrow next to your profile picture.
c) Then select About from the drop down menu.
d) Put a tick in the checkbox so the Huddle Desktop window appears every time you start up your computer. This way you won't have to click the icon in the task bar to launch the Desktop window.

II) What desktop allows you to do

a) Use the tabs at the top of the window to navigate round your Recent Files, Bookmarks and Workspaces.
b) Click the arrow next to any document to either edit it, add or remove it from your Bookmarks or Recent files list, or open it on the web.
c) Search for documents on the Desktop window by entering a search term in the box at the top.
d) Use the open button to open documents stored in Huddle on your computer.
Upload files from your PC to any of your Workspaces using the upload icon.

III) Editing documents with Huddle Desktop
a) Click the document you want to edit and select Edit and Lock.
b) Edit the file, click save then exit the application you were editing the file in. Your new version will be updated in Huddle.

IV) Opening documents with Huddle Desktop
a) To open a document from your Recent Files or Bookmarks list, just click its title.
To open a document that is in one of your Workspaces but that is not listed on the Desktop app. Click the open button in the top left hand corner of the window.
b) Select the Workspace the file is in.
c) Navigate through your files and folders to get to select the document you want then click Open.

V) Uploading documents with Huddle Desktop
a) Click the Upload button in the top right hand corner of the window.
b) This will launch your PC's file explorer so you can select the file(s) you want to upload.
c) Once you have selected your files, click Open.
Huddle Desktop will show you your list of Workspaces. Select the Workspace and the Folder where you would like to upload your content.
d) Click upload to add your document to your chosen folder and Workspace.
e) You can also drag and drop documents from your PC into Huddle Desktop to upload them. Select your files and drop them onto the window. Then follow the same steps as the method above to finish the upload.
