Attention: Our SMS provider is experiencing intermittent outages affecting delivery of SMS notifications. Should you encounter difficulties in receiving your 2FA single-use passcode, please contact our support team at support.huddle@ideagen.com

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security feature that your Huddle Company Manager can choose to enable. 2FA requires users to set up a phone number on which they will receive a 6-digit verification code by SMS to authenticate with when signing into Huddle.

In simplest terms, it means that as a user who is required to use 2FA by their company, you will need to sign into Huddle with two layers of security: your password and your 2FA 6-digit verification code.

This article will cover:

III) Troubleshooting & FAQ

 .

a) You didn't receive a verification code to your phone while setting up 2FA

If you didn't receive a code via SMS while setting up 2FA, you may have entered your phone number wrong or you do not have mobile network reception, please try again later.

 .

b) What back-up codes are, why they are important and how to use them

Back-up codes are 8-digit numbers that allow you to sign in to Huddle when you do not have your phone to hand or do not have mobile reception. You can only use each of the 10 back-up codes you are given once, so only use them if you really need to.

You are given your back-up codes when setting up 2FA after verifying your phone number. Make sure that you copy and paste or take a picture of the codes because this is the only time you will be shown them.

In the event that you need to sign in using a back-up code, follow these steps:

1) Go to the sign in page with your registered phone to hand.

2) Sign in using your usual Huddle password.

3) Click the Don't have your phone? link on the 2FA authentication page.

4) Enter one of your back-up codes into the text box and click Sign in.

TIP: If you have used most of your back-up codes you can reset your phone number to generate a new set of 10. You can reset your number even if you haven't actually changed telephone.

c) You didn't receive a verification code to your phone when signing in with 2FA

You may not have received a back-up code while trying to authenticate with 2FA for a couple of reasons. the most likely is that you do not have mobile reception in your current location in which case you will either have to sign in using one of your 10 back-up codes or try again later when you have reception.

It may also be possible that our provider for 2FA is having technical difficulties. In this case you will also need to use one of your 10 back-up codes to authenticate and gain access to Huddle.
