Tasks will not appear for two reasons. The first is that there may be no tasks assigned within that workspace. The other is that you may have the filters on settings that bring up no tasks (as can be seen below):

To see all the tasks in the workspace, you need to change the filter to the following, with either ‘due earliest’ or ‘due latest’:
